This year the Council of Europe and the European Union are celebrating the European Year of Languages. Its grand opening will take place from 18 until 20 February in Lund in Sweden, because the Presidency of the European Union for the first six months of 2001 has been assigned to Sweden.
All participating countries have their own website, including Holland, which lists all activities organized this year.
